PADI has designed several programs to take your diving to the level that you desire. The light blue path across the top is the typical process that a new diver would take to becoming a Master Scuba Diver (in Red), the highest level of recreational diver.

The path downward in black is the path taken by a career diver that wants to make diving their profession. The highest ranking career/professional diver is a Course Director.

Each path will require passing the basic courses across the top while taking and passing specialty courses along the way and logging in a number of dives as you progress. Once you become a Rescue Diver you can choose to continue on by either finishing your recreational train and becoming a Master Scuba Diver or you can take the professional path to become a Divemaster.

PADI On-Line Open Water Diver Course (paid to PADI) $120.00

In-Water Skills Training & Certification at Captain Hook’s $375.00

Two students or more $325.00 each

Following completion of the online coursework, you are required to complete the in-water training at a dive shop. Captain Hook’s includes scuba equipment, air, tanks, & weights, your confined water (pool) dives and skills training, plus two dive trips consisting of your open-water checkout dives and certification—all under the guidance and instruction of our certified dive instructor.

PADI On-Line Advanced Open Water Diver Course (paid to PADI) $120.00

In-Water Skills Training & Certification at Captain Hook’s $300.00

Two students or More: $250.00 each

PADI eLearners will complete Boat, Deep, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation and Wreck Diving on-line. Then following completion of the online coursework, you are required to select 5 disciplines and complete the in-water advanced training at a dive shop. Captain Hook’s includes scuba equipment, tanks & weights, your three dive trips consisting of your skills training and checkout—all under the guidance and instruction of our certified dive instructor.

PADI On-Line Enriched Air NITROX Diver Course (paid to PADI) $195.00

Pre-Dive Simulation and Air Analysis at Captain Hook’s $25.00

Air analysis and a pre-dive simulation is required to become certified with PADI eLearning Enriched Air NITROX Diver. Captain Hook’s includes analyzing, recording the air composition, pre-dive simulation and certification card.

Skills Training & Certification for Level Two for Divers

The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Course Online includes all the knowledge development requirements for the course. If you want to take digital photos and video near, around or underwater this course will teach you how. Prior to certification as a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level One, you must complete a training dive in a pool, confined water or open water. The Level One certification is open to snorkelers and the certification card issued for that level will state that it is a non-diving certification level. For divers in training or divers that are already certified, certification as a PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level Two requires you to complete a second open water training dive.

PADI has developed a series of on-line scuba courses to make it convenient for you to perform you dive training anywhere and anytime you like. Here is how it works:

You will sign up on the PADI website to take a course, and you will also select a dive shop to work with to complete your training. Of course, we hope you select Captain Hook’s. Tuition for the PADI eLearning is paid on-line to PADI. The fee includes access to the digital manuals and all coursework. Once you enroll and select Captain Hook’s, our dive instructors will also be available to answer any questions and tutor you throughout your coursework, either through email or by phone, if you need additional help.

We offer both in-house and on-line training and certification programs.

Most of our dive instruction is performed in a private or semi-private environment because we are in a resort area. That means that your schedule is important to us and we try to accommodate it when we establish your dive training.

So here is how you get started, with a choice, do you want to start your training at home and at your own pace or do you want to get it done completely where you will be getting certified? Not sure if you would like to scuba dive, check out our Discover Scuba Course. It is a good and inexpensive way to test the waters literally.

Individual: $195.00 Two or More: $175.00

We have a terrific one-day Resort Course so you can discover the excitement of scuba diving. Class and pool sessions are followed by two open water dives. This Discover Scuba experience includes instruction, scuba equipment, pool session, two open water dives with an instructor and boat trip. It’s great way to get started!

Additional dive trips cost $125.00 and include a dive instructor.

Certified divers can refresh their scuba skills. This one-day course involves a pool session followed by two open water dives. Includes instruction, scuba equipment, pool session & boat trip.
